The Key2Concrete Project
This knowledgebase is aimed at users and specifiers of construction, particularly, but not exclusively, precast concrete. It draws on current and past practice to give guidance on tried and tested methods.
It is a joint collaboration between J&P Building Systems Ltd and BPCF, and is aimed at Architects, Engineers and Contractors who are working with concrete construction, but who may not have the type of knowledge built up over years of experience.
The knowledgebase is not a text book; neither does it purport to only give "the right way of doing things". In reality there is not always a right or wrong way. In many instances however, here are preferred and none preferred methods, and the right choice can make an enormous difference to the success or otherwise of a project.
A little birdie told us about twitter...
We have been delighted with the response to Key2Concrete. Since launch, Key2Concrete has developed beyond all our expectations, and we would like to thank all our subscribers for your kind messages and support.
In this time, we have welcomed in excess of 30,000 unique visitors through the site's virtual doors, who have viewed more that 150,000 pages of information, visiting us from all over the globe, and covering a wide range of disciplines. We have been delighted with the industry's response to Key2Concrete, similarly we were delighted and honoured to receive an award from the British Precast Concrete Federation's CONCRETE2010 Exhibition and Conference.
In order to continue to meet the needs of site users, we have now created a twitter account, where we hope to "tweet" about the latest events at Key2Concrete. We also hope to develop our Ask Cliff feature further, and use twitter to provide faster responses to your construction queries.
Right now, we are only just starting out, so please bear with us whilst we get to grips with the new technology. If you are already on twitter yourself, please give us a follow, and we will follow you right back!
We are pleased to announce that Cliff and Key2Concrete have won a prestigious award at the National Precast Conference, Expo and Best Practice Awards. The award was given for Innovation for our work on the Key2Concrete project, and we are delighted and honoured to have received this acknowledgement from the judging panel.
